  • “Kronda Thimesch is an ardent supporter of our first responders and is adamantly opposed to any effort to defund the police.”
  • “Kronda believes that citizens are best served when law enforcement and communities have high engagement and strong positive relationships.”

Education Funding & Teacher Pay

She recognizes that our education system requires a holistic examination on all fronts––as we expand efforts to maximize student health and safety and support parents and teachers, especially in the wake of COVID-19.”
  • “With experience in governance and oversight, Kronda remains devoted to achieving meaningful education reform to improve transparency, oversight, and accountability in our school systems.”

Texas Economy & Taxes

  • “Having witnessed firsthand the impacts of over-taxation and heavy-handed regulation, she is committed to reducing these harmful barriers to success for Texas business owners. Kronda is committed to eliminate needless regulations and red tape that harm our businesses so Texans can get back to work.”
  • “As an advocate in the community who has worked directly with homeowners and community groups, Kronda knows the importance of reforming the property tax system and continuing the fight to cut property taxes. We need to ensure that families are not taxed out of their homes.”
  • “State Comptroller Glenn Hegar has already warned that the dual hits to sales tax and oil and gas revenue as a result of the pandemic will present significant budget challenges when the Texas Legislature convenes in 2021. This is a time for us to revisit and refocus on the basics. What does our state government need to provide that other entities cannot? Where can we cut fat and reduce spending on wasteful, unnecessary, or obsolete agencies and programs?”

Government Transparency & Ethics

Reproductive Health

  • “Kronda is pro-life, will work to defend the sanctity of life, and will oppose taxpayer funding of abortions.”

Michelle Beckley

Michelle Beckley is the current Representative for State House District 65, and the Democratic Candidate. A Carrollton-Native, Beckley is a Texas A&M graduate, a small-business owner, and community activist. Beckley’s top priorities include providing access to affordable, high-quality healthcare and expanding Medicaid to cover more Texans, investing more state funds in public education, adopting pro-clean energy policies, and improving Texas school safety measures by promoting common sense gun reform.

Criminal Justice & Public Safety

  • “I proudly stand with the 97% of American who support universal background checks on all gun sales.”
  • “It’s past time for the state of Texas to fully legalize medical and recreational use and sales of Cannabis.”
  • “In addition, through reform we must clear the criminal legal records of individuals with low level cannabis related charges.”

Education Funding & Teacher Pay

  • “Public schools must be fully-funded to achieve the goal of providing children with the tools they need to succeed.”
  • “We must never allow school voucher systems, which have failed time and again, to siphon funds into the coffers of for-profit businesses at our expense.”

Texas Economy & Taxes

  • “The failed war on drugs is costing taxpayers millions of dollars annually. Texans are footing the bill for the large private prison system in our state. Instead we could use the tax revenues of cannabis sales to invest in our public schools and infrastructure.”
  • “Clean energy is also profitable for those who embrace it, creating jobs 12 times faster than the rest of America’s economy according to Forbes magazine. Texas must adopt pro-clean energy policies as soon as possible, or our economy and our health will suffer.”

Healthcare

  • “We must work to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, high-quality health care, and nobody should go bankrupt because they get sick. Texas has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the developed world. This means our mothers are dying during childbirth. We have also failed Texans with disabilities by underfunding access to specialized care and its providers. This is why Texas must immediately take the Medicaid Expansion.”

  • “We must encourage individuals, businesses and municipalities to obtain solar and wind power, and entice manufacturers of clean energy products to locate their businesses here.”

Social Services

  • “Everyone in a community should be valued, respected and treated with dignity. Your individual beliefs, religion, orientation, or any other distinction that makes you a unique person should be protected from both institutional and legislative discrimination. We should not be legalizing hatred and exclusion.”
