Craig Goldman Represents Special Interests, Not Us

There is a housing crisis in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Even with a construction boom in this area, it’s hard to find apartments that aren’t pricing people out of a place to live.

State Representative Craig Goldman (R – Tarrant County) isn’t helping rents from rising in the Dallas – Fort Worth area. Campaign filings show Goldman received $2,500 from the Apartment Association of Tarrant County PAC, $750  from the Texas Association of Business PAC and $2,000 from the Texas Land title Association PAC.

Goldman’s personal finance statements show he’s employed at various apartment companies including Diamond Villa Apartments LLC, SC Apartments LLC and Martha’s Villa, all based in Fort Worth. Goldman’s employment explains why he votes in the interest of real estate businesses and not his constituents.

Goldman voted in favor of  HB 1449, which keeps local government from imposing fees that could lead to cost-effective rent.

Goldman’s made it clear that he’s a representative of construction and real estate companies and not his constituents.
