Angie Chen Button Wins Texas House District 112

The general election for Texas House District 112 concluded on Tuesday night, with incumbent Rep. Angie Chen Button securing a victory over Democratic challenger Averie Bishop. Button, who has held the seat since 2009, continues her tenure in a district that has faced shifting demographics and electoral competitiveness.

At the time this article was published, Button had received 46,671 votes (54.0%) against Bishop, who received 39,740 votes (46.0%) .

Button’s campaign emphasized her conservative values and experience as chair of the International Relations & Economic Development Committee. She has maintained a voting record that aligns with pro-business policies and has been a strong advocate for education vouchers. Despite Bishop’s strong grassroots campaign and the recent political climate favoring Democrats, Button’s established presence and significant fundraising efforts helped her secure re-election.
