Dallas Billionaire Mark Cuban Supports Kamala Harris

Dallas billionaire Mark Cuban is leading a group of more than 400 venture capitalists and tech leaders supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race.

The group is leaded by Shark Tank star Mark Cuban, LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman, Khosla Ventures founder Vinod Khosla, and SV Angel managing partner Ron Conway.

“We spend our days looking for, investing in and supporting entrepreneurs who are building the future. We are pro-business, pro-American dream, pro-entrepreneurship, and pro-technological progress,” the group, VCs for Kamala, said in a statement. “We also believe in democracy as the backbone of our nation. We believe that strong, trustworthy institutions are a feature, not a bug, and that our industry – and every other industry — would collapse without them. That is what’s at stake in this election. Everything else, we can solve through constructive dialogue with political leaders and institutions willing to talk to us.”

This news comes after Tesla CEO Elon Musk publicly announced he will be supporting Donald Trump. According to The Verge, venture capitalists who claimed to have previously voted for Democrats, like Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz announced they’ll be supporting Trump too.

Cuban, was at one point, considered as one of Harris’ possible vice presidential picks, according to betting websites.

Cuban also has expressed that Harris seems receptive to hearing about new technologies, including crypto, and AI.

“The feedback I’m getting, but certainly not confirmed by the VP, is that she will be far more open to business, [artificial intelligence], crypto and government as a service,” he told Politico.

Cuban has supported all these issues, especially crypto. According to the Dallas Morning News, he has a crypto portfolio full of currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon and Injective.

Harris has not exposed a lot about her views on key tech issues, but she has gained personal connections to Silicon Valley in her time as California Senator.
