George P. Bush Officially Announces Run for Attorney General

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush has made it official, he’s running against Ken Paxton for the seat of Texas Attorney General.

“Enough is enough, Ken,” Bush said during his campaign kickoff at Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden in Austin. “You’ve brought way too much scandal and too little integrity to this office. As a career politician of 20 years, it’s time for you to go. We need an attorney general that’s above reproach, not under criminal indictment for securities fraud and under FBI investigation for bribery and corruption.”

Bush already starting campaigning internally, this evening he sent out a video to Texas Republicans saying he “won’t sit idly by while the liberal elites and the media undermine Texas values,” and he even added he would defend liberty, the same way Trump did.

The pair of GOP politicians have been feeding an everlasting feud for a while now, so it looks like the Republican primaries are on their way to becoming more than a little muddy.

Additionally, Bush told reporters that he is expecting an endorsement from Donald Trump, who in the past was a close ally of Paxton.

Trump recently said that he would issue an endorsement in the race — and do so “in the not-so-distant future.”
