Hopper Declares Victory In HD 64

The runoff elections for Texas House District 64 concluded on Tuesday night, marking a pivotal moment in a particularly intense election cycle. The heightened stakes were driven by the efforts of Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton, whose influence pushed eight incumbents into runoff races.

Notably, Andy Hopper declared victory over Dr. Lynn Stucky in HD 64 runoff election. Stucky was a key target for Paxton after voting impeach him. At the time of the publication of this article, Hopper had recieved 8,943votes (58.1% percent) against Stucky, who received 6,448 votes (41.9% percent).

In the March 5 primary, Hopper led Stucky by 3.4 percentage points. Hopper received 46.7% of the vote, while Stucky garnered 43.3%. Third candidate Elaine Hays got 10%.

In the past, Hopper criticized Stucky’s conservative credentials, citing his vote to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton and support for a significant spending increase. Meanwhile, Stucky defends his conservative record and accuses Hopper of accepting donations from a super PAC linked to white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

In his victory statement Hopper said: “To Texans for Lawsuit Reform and every dark money interest group in Austin who spent hundreds of thousands lying to our neighbors, District 64 has been returned to the voters.”

“Our conservative movement is resounding, and I thank every single person who believed in our mission. I want to thank God, my wife Amanda, my family, our entire team, and every volunteer who’s worked tirelessly in support of this campaign. God bless House District 64 and God bless Texas!” — said
Republican nominee Andy Hoppe
