Kamala Harris’ Texas Schedule Released, Biden Team on Statewide Tour

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ Texas visit on Friday will include stops in McAllen, Fort Worth and Houston. The choices appear to be strategic.

Fort Worth is the only remaining city in Texas that leans red, but it is showing signs of flipping blue.

McAllen is in the Rio Grande Valley, home to the state’s largest Latinx population, which tends to vote Democratic.

Houston is clearly blue and has been leading the state in early voting turnout.

“Texas Democrats are proud to welcome Kamala Harris back to the biggest battleground state in the country. Senator Harris visiting this late in the game shows the significance of Texas and is the game-changer Texas Democrats need to put us over the top,” said Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa and Vice Chair Carla Brailey in a joint statement.

Harris’ visit will come on the last day of early voting. Former Vice President Joe Biden will not be in Texas before Election Day, but he has a team of surrogates currently on a three-day statewide bus tour that will take them to 14 Texas cities. They are visiting Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene, Fort Worth and Dallas today.
