Paxton and George P. Bush on a Ring-Kissing Battle for Trump’s Endorsement

Apparently, the race to occupy the Attorney General’s seat has not only begun but will also include conservative face-offs between current AG Ken Paxton and recently resigned land commissioner George P. Bush.

And until now, the race has mainly focused on one main objective: becoming Trump’s chosen one.

On one hand, there’s George P. Bush who doesn’t seem to have a problem with Trump’s long history of lashing out against the Bush family and has even handed out koozies showing him and Trump with a 2019 quote that reads: “This is the only Bush that likes me. This is the Bush that got it right. I like him.”

On the other hand, there’s current Attorney General Ken Paxton, who besides being constantly on headlines over fraud accusations, is one of Trump’s most fervent supporters.

After Trump’s defeat in 2020, Paxton led an enormous legal battle to try and prove the unsupported claims of widespread fraud, claiming the former President had won the election.

According to Newsweek, Paxton said Donald Trump would have lost in Texas in the 2020 election if his office had not successfully blocked counties from mailing out applications for mail-in ballots to all registered voters.

As Paxton made a last failed attempt last December to invalidate more than 17 million ballots in Democrat states, one person involved with Texas Republican politics told CNN that Trump was frustrated and disappointed with Paxton’s failed lawsuit.

“I like them both very much. I’ll be making my endorsement and recommendation to the great people of Texas in the not-so-distant future. I told Texas that Sleepy Joe would be against guns, oil, and God, and I was right!” Trump said.

In a new statement on Tuesday, Trump said he will soon be endorsing for Texas attorney general ahead of next year’s GOP primary, and as for now, we’ll have to watch both grown men campaigning to become the ultimate ring-kisser.
