Houston is now the home of the deadliest road in the country.
Budget Direct conducted a study to determine each nation’s most dangerous road and Interstate 45 came out on top in the US.
Interstate 45 runs through Houston from Galveston to Dallas and sees 56.5 fatalities for every 100-mile stretch.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the motor vehicle traffic fatality rate rose 7.54 percent in 2020, with 3,896 deaths. Harris County is currently suing the TDT to prevent the plan to expand 1-45.
