The Future Of Texas Education: The Looming Threat Of Voucher Scams

Reform Austin Journalist Jovanka Palacios interviews Rep. James Talarico (D-Austin) on HB 1548. A bill that proposes an across-the-board pay raise of $15,000 for teachers and a 25% pay increase for school support staff.

In addition to raising teacher’s salaries, Talarico discusses other public education issues, such as; “school choice programs” (a.k.a Gov. Greg Abbott’s voucher scam,) Texas’ teacher exodus crisis, “woke agendas,” and the far-right Republican’s plan to create wedges in the legislative chamber.
