Spotify Wrapped is here, with a new feature called Sound Town that matches you to a city based on your listening habits. You might notice a lot of people getting matched with San Luis Obispo, Berkeley, Burlington or Cambridge, but what about Houston? What are Houston’s music habits?
Well, according to the Houston Chronicle regional Mexican music is what Houstonians listened the most in 2023 – along with Taylor Swift.
Regarding just artists, Taylor Swift was the top artist listened to in Houston, followed by Drake, Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma and The Weeknd. Four of those artists were also in the top last year, but this time Peso Pluma is replacing Kanye West, who didn’t make it to the top five in 2023.
However, in regards to songs, Houstonians really loved regional Mexican music with “Ella Baila Sola” by Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma topping the list. It is followed by “Kill Bill” by SZA, “un x100to” by Bad Bunni and Grupo Frontera, “Bebe Dame” by Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera, and “La Bebe – Remix” by Peso Pluma and Yng Lvcas.
Four of the songs in the top five are regional Mexican music, which marks a huge change from last year, where Bad Bunny held four slots in the top five.
