Matthew McConaughey Gives His Voice to AI, And It Speaks Spanish!

Oscar-winning Texas actor Matthew McConaughey has signed a partnership with New York-based AI audio company ElevenLabs, combining his voice with the firm’s technology for content creation. 

McConaughey, who has also invested an undisclosed sum in the company, has collaborated with ElevenLabs since its founding in 2022. And through the partnership, McConaughey is producing a Spanish-language audio version of his newsletter, Lyrics of Livin’, using an AI-generated version of his own voice, reported Variety.

In a statement cited by ElevenLabs, McConaughey said, “Since our first conversation, I’ve been impressed by how the ElevenLabs team has taken the magic of the core technology and turned it into products that creators, enterprises and storytellers use daily…Now, thanks to ElevenLabs, ‘Lyrics of Livin’’ is expanding with a Spanish language edition, allowing us to reach and connect with even more people.”

Michael Caine Joins ElevenLabs’ “Iconic Voice Marketplace”

British actor Michael Caine, 92, is also partnering with ElevenLabs, joining its newly launched Iconic Voice Marketplace. The platform allows companies to request approval to use Caine’s voice for projects including narration of books and articles. 

“For years, I’ve lent my voice to stories that moved people…Now, I’m helping others find theirs,” said Caine in a statement. “With ElevenLabs, we can preserve and share voices — not just mine, but anyone’s…It’s not about replacing voices; it’s about amplifying them, opening doors for new storytellers everywhere.”

The marketplace features additional celebrity voices such as Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, John Wayne, Maya Angelou, and Alan Turing.

CEO Mati Staniszewski described the marketplace as demonstrating “how AI can responsibly expand opportunities for studio and talent, while enhancing storytelling.”

AI Voice Tech Keeps Expanding

Founded in 2022 by Staniszewski and former Google engineer Piotr Dąbkowski, ElevenLabs’ speech-generation software supports over 70 languages and has been applied in audiobooks, video games, news articles, and advertising.
