The Michelin Guide has finally unveiled its first-ever Texas edition, awarding 15 restaurants in four Texas cities. With this guide, Texas has been recognized as an international culinary hub.
On Monday, The Machine Guide presented its Texas edition at an exclusive ceremony at Houston’s 713 Music Hall. Chefs from across the state came together to revel in their shared achievements and to celebrate the restaurants awarded with the Michelin stars.
“Each of you set a new bar for Texas,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director, Michelin Guide, according to Forbes. “And tonight we celebrate the quality, creativity and passion of these chefs. It’s not only an award,” he continues. “It’s an encouragement to raise the bar, become even more daring and dream even bigger.”
Austin was the city with the most restaurants receiving Michelin stars, with seven restaurants awarded. The Texas capital is followed by Houston with six restaurants awarded. Both Dallas and San Antonio have one restaurant with a Michelin star. Here are the restaurants.
