Texas Cannabis Clinic Offers Discounted Appointments For Veterans Suffering From PTSD

A Texas clinic announced it would give a discount on appointments scheduled by veterans suffering from PTSD who want to use cannabis as an alternative healing method.

The Texas Cannabis Clinic announced that it will give Texas veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, a $20 discount on appointments they schedule using the code “VETERAN20”.

“By offering discounted rates on appointments, TCC aims to make this treatment option more accessible to Texas veterans who may be struggling,” said TCC’s founder, medical director and veteran Dr. Matthew Brimberry.

The primary treatment for PTSD is psychotherapy, but some types of medication can help the process. According to some studies, medical marijuana can help alleviate some PTSD symptoms such as anxiety, sleep problems and even help reduce inflammatory processes within the brain. Overall, marijuana can help as a good palliative to alleviate some symptoms.

PTSD is a mental disorder that develops after experiencing a traumatic event and produces disturbing thoughts and feelings related to their experiences. People with PTSD may experience flashbacks, nightmares, fear, anger or anxiety.

According to the National Center for PTSD, about 7% of veterans will develop PTSD, but this number may be even higher, as the same center found that 29% of Iraq veterans will develop PTSD at some point in their lives.

PTSD is typically more prevalent among veterans than other populations, and Texas is the second state with the highest number of veterans.

TCC has been working with veterans for several years and is a collaborator with Texas Veterans for Medical Cannabis. In 2021, Texas allowed people with PTSD to qualify for medical marijuana treatment.

TCC is a 100% virtual telemedicine consultation service and also the largest veteran-owned medical marijuana certification clinic in Texas.

Brimberry and his team can diagnose PTSD and are certified for the Texas Compassionate Use Program. The company offers both same-day appointments and a veteran’s discount, and charges no fees for those who don’t qualify for the program.
