Duckworth, Other US Military Veterans Get The Last Laugh On Cruz

Ukrainian forces have sent the Russians scurrying home in retreat in recent days, using US weapons and a strong belief in their democracy, diversity and freedom. Maybe Ted Cruz should rethink his comments regarding the “woke” US Military.

Cruz tweeted last year after he complained about the U.S. Army recruiting ad that was featured in a viral clip comparing it with a Russian military ad. The video was a spoof showing a Russian army ad of soldiers doing pushups, parachuting, and preparing to use firearms as dramatic music played in the background. The video switched to an animated Army clip of a female soldier raised by two mothers who joined the U.S. Army.

He tweeted that “Holy Crap. Perhaps a woke, emasculated military is not the best idea…”

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who is a retired Army National Guard lieutenant colonel, said in response that “Perhaps a U.S. Senator shouldn’t suggest that the *Russian* military is better than the American military that protected him from an insurrection he helped foment?”

Cruz, who has a history of becoming a meme for “open mouth, insert foot” — was recently referred to by Hilary Clinton as “the eternal blowhard.” Cruz showed his true colors as he left the airport on his way to Cancun when his Texas constituents were stranded in sub freezing temperatures in 2021.
