How Trump’s Win Could Shield Tesla from Federal Probes And Give Elon Musk Unprecedented Power

Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, spent millions of dollars campaigning for Donald Trump. Just after Trump was victorious in this year’s elections, Tesla’s shares skyrocketed, making Musk even richer, but his alliance with Trump can benefit him even further.

In October, The New York Times reported that a second Trump term could give Musk the relief he needs with at least 20 federal investigations on his companies over potential violations. Tesla, SpaceX, NeuraLink and Twitter/X could face major fines, but if Trump chooses the right people to lead the Departments of Justice, Labor, and Transportation these probes could stop.

In addition, Musk has been touting the idea of a new federal government efficiency commission led by him. This new “Department of Government Efficiency,” (or DOGE named after a meme Elon is obsessed with) could give Musk the power to regulate his own regulators.

“Starship will make life multiplanetary, preserving life as know from extinction events on Earth, so long as it is not smothered by bureaucracy,” He wrote in a tweet.

“The Department of Government Efficiency is the only path to extending life beyond Earth,” he claimed.

Musk invested about 130 million in Trump with a newly created political action committee of his own, America PAC. With his PAC, he carried out the controversial $1 million “lottery” to Trump supporters. WIth this investment, Musk should obviously expect results from Trump’s government.

In addition, Mashable reported that Musk could play a role in Trump’s millionaire fees in a civil fraud case.

However, it is still unclear whether Musk could gain more power than the president himself next year. Trump still needs the help of America PAC if he wants to keep the Republican majority in Congress, and Musk could become really powerful if Trump gives him the hypothetical efficiency department.
