It's back-to-school time and Rodney Anderson doesn't want to protect kids

School is back in session in Texas and many parents are still concerned about the safety of their children. Despite the horrific events of Santa Fe High School shooting that left 10 children dead, state officials have done nothing to protect our children. They are all talk but no action. Though Governor Abbott has held roundtables to discuss how to fight against school shootings, nothing has come out of these discussions.
Through various pieces of legislation that Rodney Anderson, given a 93 percent rating by the NRA, has either sponsored or voted in favor legislation that may make a lack of safety at schools more prevalent.
Anderson voted in favor of SB 11, which authorized concealed carry of firearms on college campuses. Anderson also sponsored and voted for HB 910, which allows open carry of handguns.
With all due respect, the next time Representative Anderson mentions thoughts and prayers, he should be told that words alone do not equate to strong leadership and have not kept our children safe. We are doing wrong by them.
