Texan Anti-Mask Woman Harasses County Judge Nelson Wolff over Mandate

A hairstylist from San Antonio who goes by the name Ashley Rocks on social media, filmed and posted a video where she is seen verbally abusing Bexar County Judge Nelson, while he shopped for groceries at a local H-E-B.

In the video, the self-described “patriot to the core”, can be heard directing threats to the County Judge, who has been an outspoken supporter of mask mandates amidst the worrying increases of COVID-19 cases in San Antonio.

“You are going to go to jail. They are going to hang you,” Rocks said in the video. “Treason and crimes against humanity. You are going down. Better enjoy your freedom while it lasts, buddy. Then you have to answer to God.”

Calling him a communist, a traitor, and accusing him of taking money to sell “American’s freedoms away” Rocks also ranted about the vaccine being a “bioweapon” and yelled conspiracy theories about face masks, despite the CDC’s guidelines and multiple evidence of their effectiveness.

Unmoved by the insults directed at him, Judge Nelson keeps pushing his cart away and proceeds to load his groceries into the car.

According to the Houston Chronicle, in a statement Monday, Wolff insisted that now was not the time to “let our guard down” and asked that San Antonians work to decrease the number of COVID-19 cases by wearing masks, observing social distancing, and keeping up sanitary practices.

“I realize, after a year and a half, we all are experiencing COVID fatigue from wearing masks and other public health guidelines,” Wolff said. “Now is the not the time to stop and let our guard down.”

This, however, is not the first time that Judge Nelson has been harassed by an angry shopper. In June 2020 another mask denier physically abused Mr. Nelson by slapping him, angered at the emergency order which allowed mask mandates in business.

In August, Wolff and San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg defied Governor Greg Abbott’s order prohibiting mask mandates by ordering masks be worn in all city and county facilities, as reported by Newsweek.

Despite the hatred of anti-maskers and with San Antonio’s risk level for transmission currently labeled as “severe” Judge Nelson has been very vocal in his support of mask mandates in schools.

“Our numbers are coming down slowly. Let’s keep this downward trend going. Mask up, keep social distance, and sanitize.”
