Giant Elon Musk Bust Travels Through Texas, Here’s Why

A video showing a giant bust of a distorted face of Elon Musk being tucked by a Cybrtruck has become viral, raising numerous questions and sparking curiosity among social media users.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the bronze-colored bust was commissioned by a French entrepreneur who only goes by “Louis,” based on an online meme named “Elon, I Drew You.” The meme is a pencil drawing of Musk with disproportionately small eyes and weird factions. Louis also commissioned a 3-story-tall mural based on the same meme along the route to Starbase.

The bust and mural are linked to ElonRWA, a Real World Asset token he co-created, adding a quirky layer to the growing Musk fandom in Texas

The bust will be officially unveiled at an event called “ElonDay” in Brownsville on August 25, where it will be installed near SpaceX’s Starbase. ElonDay is a free event for 250 people that will celebrate “art, technology and memes.” Several cryptocurrency websites are sponsoring the event.

“ElonDay is not just a tribute to Elon Musk’s accomplishments but also a celebration of the meme culture that continues to entertain and influence,” the event’s website says. “The event is designed to be a space for meaningful discourse and community connection, catering to both Musk enthusiasts and critics alike.”

Louis said he hopes both the bust and the mural will help people educate about cryptocurrency and digital art. Chris Lerma, who rented land for the mural, is planning further developments, including a parking lot and food trucks, to cater to the growing number of visitors.

“I need to clean up in here and this and that, but it’s a work in progress,” he said. “It’s gonna be nice, we’re gonna put our heart and soul into it.”
