Find Texas Legislators’ and Candidates’ Personal Financial Statements Here

With the 2020 election season in full swing, voters are considering candidates in the primaries who will represent them in the Texas Legislature.

When lawmakers are transparent and accountable, we all benefit. Unfortunately, current laws don’t require the state to post Personal Financial Statements of Texas legislators or candidates online. This forces constituents and the media to go through a bureaucratic process just to see if there are any conflicts of interests among those who are supposed to represent us.

That’s why we’re making Personal Financial Statements from 2020 available to anyone to download online.

Click here to view our Google Drive folder and download specific statements or the entire database.

There were two bills filed last session to make personal financial statements publicly available. Both died before receiving a floor vote — not an uncommon fate for ethics reform bills in the Legislature. One of them cleared a committee but languished in the Calendars Committee until it hit the end-of-session deadline.
