Uvalde Shooter Carried More Ammunition Than A U.S Soldier

In a report given by Steve McCraw, the chief of the Texas Department Of Public Safety, last Friday, it became known that the 18-year-old shooter from Uvalde, who ended the lives of 19 children and two teachers, brought 1000 rounds of ammunition to Robb School. Almost 5 times more than an U. S. soldier, who usually carries 210 rounds in massive gun combat.

The Law enforcement officer clarified that a great part of the ammunition was hidden in a backpack outside the building school but still in the area. He also made a chronological line of events of the tragedy that took place last Wednesday, according to CBN News

At 11:32 am, Salvdaro Ramos, the shooter, started the shooting outside the school. When he entered the building through a side door he wasted most of the rounds in the first 4 minutes, according to NPR Org.

Ramos, opened fire in a classroom emptying 142 cartridges. He didn’t use 173 rounds. Investigators found 58 magazines all over the school and two magazines in his house.

The 18-year-old bought the expensive firearm through a debit card, the police officer declared when asked in the press conference. He also admitted in tears, that it was a mistake to wait almost 48 minutes to enter the classroom.

19 police officers were outside the classroom for almost an hour before breaking into the classroom and confronting the shooter. Allegedly this was a decision taken by the police chief of Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District.

“From the benefit of hindsight, where I’m sitting now, of course, it was not the right decision. It was the wrong decision. Period. There was no excuse for that,” said Steven McCraw.

During this time, teachers and kids called 911 several times. One of these phone calls was recorded. It came from a child who was in one of the locked classrooms and said there were still almost 8 or 9 kids alive.
