Republican Campaign Video Features Public Execution

Would-be Texas Republican Representative Valentina Gomez pretended to brutally murder a man in a recent campaign video.

Gomez is currently hoping to take over Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s (R-Houston) seat in the House of Representatives by defeating him in the 2026 primary as a hardcore anti-immigration candidate. That is about the only normal thing about her. Even in the age of Trumpism, Gomez is an extremist and obsesses with violence to judge by her campaign videos.

Her latest video, released two days before Christmas, shows her nonchalantly shooting a person in the back of the head as they are bound and covered in a chair. She stalks toward the camera and says, “It’s simple: public executions for any illegal that rapes or kills.” Within hours, the video had racked up 5 million views on X (formerly Twitter) and also been restricted for violent content.

Calling this a campaign video is overly generous. There is no call to action or even a reminder that Gomez is running for office. It’s just a person in the woods pretending to commit an unconstitutional execution to illustrate her violent bigotry.

Nor is this a one time thing. Gomez’s search for office has been marked by paranoid claims and hatred. In August, Gomez accused “Hollywood pedophiles” of attempting to kill her father and for poisoning her dog. This came after there was LGBT backlash for her using homophobic slurs in a previous video. Gomez has not provided any proof that either of these crimes ever took place or, if they did, that the perpetrators were LGBT or undocumented immigrants.

Other recent videos have her quoting from the Bible, saying her life is a testament to Jesus Christ and claiming that she has been persecuted for her beliefs. In another post, she railed against the recent car attack in Germany that killed five people for which a Muslim immigrant, Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, has been arrested. Gomez uses the crime as an example of why immigration leads to more crime. Ironically, Al Abdulmohsen had renounced his faith and accused Germany of Islamifying the county in his increasingly disturbed social media posts where he advocated violent reprisals.

Before that, she asked people to join her subscription service where she goes for jogs, visits the gun range, and is “catching a pedophile.” As she does so, her shirt says “don’t be weak and gay” and says zero percent of the profits will go to an LGBT cause. A post from December 16 says “groomers” (by which she means any LGBT people) will kill people’s children if they can’t sexually exploit them. Reform Austin reminds readers that we once did the math and showed Texas Republican elected officials and leaders were seven times more likely to be convicted of sexually assaulting a minor than Texas drag queens.

Gomez is a recent Texas import from Missouri where she failed to be elected Secretary of State. Her odds of winning against Crenshaw are low. Crenshaw has never won a Republican primary by less than 19 points, minus the initial 2018 Republican primary following the retirement of Ted Poe where he came in first out of whopping nine candidates and went on to win the runoff by nearly 40 points. Gomez is not even listed among Ballotpedia’s 2026 challengers.

Yet, she is gaining significant exposure thanks to her grim stunts and conspiracy theory ranting. With millions of views for her fake murder and a rampaging persecution complex over the video being restricted for violent content, she’s likely to keep screaming as long as X allows her to.
