Trump Supporters Express Regret Post-Election Day, Can You Change Your Vote In Texas?

Just after Election Day and after President-elect Trump appointed conservative celebrities to lead government offices, some people who voted for him have said they regretted their decision.

Newsweek reported that on Election Day, searches for “how to change my vote” on Google spike in states won by Trump. In addition, some people expressed their regret on X/Twitter.

“I regret voting for Trump. I’ll reiterate that I live in an always very red state so it didn’t matter but I still symbolically am starting to feel quite dumb about it,” the user @HeadyRemarks wrote on X.

“Already regretting voting for you… these cabinet appointees are just not it trump,” user @ParishChristian expressed after Trump announced the nomination of Congressman Matt Gaetz to be U.S. Attorney General. Gaetz has been under investigation for sex trafficking allegations.

Despite the google searches, the Fort Wort Star-Telegram reported that it is not possible to change one’s vote after it’s already been cast.

“Once you pass it when you’re voting in person, you’ll have an opportunity to review your selection. People may have questions, or they may want to change it based on that, but once you cast the ballot, you cannot change your vote,” Pierce told the Star-Telegram.

“You could cancel your ballot before you voted to go vote in person, but once you’ve cast your ballot, either in person or by mail, you cannot change how you voted.”

However, if there are readability problems with your paper ballot, officials will redo it or you. In addition, if you voted by mail and didn’t include the correct identification information, you can edit or change it.
