The Texas Democratic Party Convention drew the attention of the media, party members, and the public. At RA News, we covered the event on social media with interviews, live tweets, and more. Check out our highlights from the event.
Hinojosa spoke with us about the importance of the Latino vote, the next president of Mexico, and his expectations for the future of the party.
Hinojosa stated that Democrats are losing elections becauseThan “the main part of our base have just decided that voting is not a priority for their families. If we go out there and organize all of our communities, our latino communities, we will win.”
Watch the full interview to learn more about Hinojosa’s views on the importance of the Latino vote and voter turnout in the next general election.
We asked attendees, “who are you most excited to see speak at the convention?” to learn more about the most popular speaker at the event.
People responded that they wanted to see Beto O’Rourke, U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, and Houston Mayor John Whitmire. Some of the people we talked to were really fans of the Democrats, with one attendee saying he had a picture with Beto.

We cover the live recording of the podcast Abortion & Our Freedoms Live Podcast, with Wendy Davis, Michelle Vallejo, and Amanza Zurawski.
Zurawski is one of the women that sued the state over its abortion bans and spoke against the strict measures in the state.
“This is the first time at least in my lifetime that a right is being taken away from me,” she said. “My mother had more rights than me. If the GOP gets their way, my embryos will have more rights than me.”
