Arch Manning, Texas Longhorns’ star quarterback, will return to the University of Texas for the 2026 season, according to Horns247. Manning, a redshirt sophomore, was eligible for the NFL draft but retains two years of college eligibility.
Manning’s father, Cooper, confirmed to ESPN, “Arch is playing football at Texas next year.”
The quarterback entered the 2025 season as a Heisman favorite and finished the regular season with 2,942 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, adding 244 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
After a rocky start, including a tough loss to Florida where he threw two interceptions and was sacked six times, Manning rebounded with strong performances at the end of the season, passing for 1,493 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for three scores in wins over Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. His season included a highlight 35-yard touchdown run against the Aggies.
Manning is now expected to lead Texas in the Citrus Bowl against Michigan on Dec. 31 as he prepares for another season with the Longhorns.
