The Texas Longhorns are preparing for their New Year’s Eve matchup with Michigan, but staff turnover continues to shape the program’s offseason. As first reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Texas director of scouting Errin Joe is expected to join North Texas as its next general manager.

Joe will reunite with former Texas special assistant Neal Brown, who recently accepted the Mean Green’s head-coaching job. Joe previously served as general manager at Georgia Tech and held personnel roles at Alabama.

North Texas is adding more major staff pieces as well. According to Zenitz, the program is also expected to hire Baylor defensive coordinator Matt Powledge, who has past experience at Oregon, to Brown’s staff.

Brown arrives in Denton with a decade of head-coaching experience, including a 35–16 record at Troy with three bowl wins and a Sun Belt title, followed by six seasons at West Virginia, where he went 37–35 and posted a high-water mark of 9–4 in 2023. He was dismissed after the Mountaineers finished 6–6 in 2024.

According to the Texas Longhorns On Si, the team continues navigating staff changes as they prepare for postseason play.
