State Representative Ron Reynolds voiced strong opposition today to a series of anti-trans bills being discussed on the Texas House floor, reaffirming his support for the LGBTQ+ community.
In a statement shared on social media, Reynolds declared, “proud to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community to express my opposition to anti-trans bills being heard on the Texas House floor today.”
He argued that the legislative focus on targeting marginalized groups takes attention away from more urgent issues, such as raising the minimum wage and expanding access to affordable healthcare.
A video posted alongside the message featured Reynolds saying, “It is shameful that in 2025 that our legislature, the leaders, the so-called, failed leaders of this state, are more concerned with attacks on trans and our LGBTQ community than erasing and stamping out white supremacist, right? There are real issues that are life-saving issues in the state, but they’re so focused on these MAGA extremist project 2025 issues.”
Reynolds, known for his long-standing advocacy for equity and inclusion, called on fellow lawmakers to redirect their efforts toward addressing the real needs of Texans, economic justice, public health, and the fight against extremism.
