Gomez Targets GOP Veterans In New Congressional Bid

As the Texas House of Representatives race intensifies, candidates have employed a variety of strategies to secure a seat, including bold statements from representatives across party lines—and, surprisingly, even from the same candidate. One such example emerged in a video posted on X by failed GOP candidate Valentina Gomez.

In the video, Gomez makes an appearance claiming she will get the position and by doing that, she will be taking down other GOP representatives once and for all. After a poor showing (less than 8% of the vote) in her bid for Missouri Secretary of State, she quickly shifted her focus by announcing a congressional run in Texas, as first reported by CHRON. This senseless statement was later withdrawn by Gomez herself, who denied what is expressed in the video, which still remains uploaded on her X account.

Gomez has been notorious for her viral and provocative hate speeches.

Her campaign video phrase “Don’t be weak and gay” has gained popularity on social media, along with endorsing the public execution of illegal immigrants mimicking it in a video firing rounds at immigrant look-alike-targets—designed to shock and grab attention.

“I’m running for Congress in Texas. I don’t fear pedophiles, criminals, or the crooks in DC. I only fear God,” she posted on X on December 18, 2024.

The video condemns GOP Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and U.S. representative Dan Crenshaw, suggesting she would be taking them down, while replacing Crenshaw’s seat: “Congress is full of crooks like Speaker Johnson who is just a little man with no balls and betrays the American people every chance he gets. And Dan Crenshaw, who is only good at betraying his fellow Navy SEALS.”

Later, she denied having ever directly said she was running against Crenshaw.

“I mentioned Speaker Johnson and Dan Crenshaw. I never said I was running against him,” she wrote. “You heard what you wanted to hear.”

After her last failed attempt, Gomez has announced her new political stage.

She said she had a “big announcement”, in which Gomez declared she will be running as a candidate for the Texas 31st congressional district.

“Now I’m coming for the Joe Biden of the Republican Party”, alluding to Rep. John Carter, who has been occupying his seat since 2003 and is a well consolidated figure of the district.

Additionally, she clarified her intentions once inside Congress:“When you vote me into Congress, I will become the greatest stock trader of all time. The best part about it is I will be sharing every single one of my trades on X just so you can get rich with me, and also to piss off every member of Congress that makes money from privileged information.”

These facts along with Gomez’s unpopularity among the Texan people and representatives from  both parties suggest that she might not be as successful in her campaign run.
