Buc-ee’s fans in the Texas Panhandle are in for an early holiday treat. Originally slated to open in February 2025, the highly anticipated Amarillo Buc-ee’s will now open its doors next month, with a grand opening scheduled for December 16, according to an email obtained by the Chron.
The new travel center, located at 9900 East Interstate 40, arrives just in time for holiday road trips, offering a prime stop for fuel, snacks, and festive shopping.
The Amarillo location is part of Buc-ee’s ongoing expansion efforts, which saw the chain open its largest store ever in Luling this summer, along with a new location in Hillsboro. Buc-ee’s has also been busy laying groundwork for stores in Arkansas, Colorado, and Ohio.
At 74,000 square feet, the Amarillo Buc-ee’s will feature 108 fueling stations, 24 EV charging ports, and will create over 200 full-time jobs, with wages starting above minimum wage and offering benefits.
According to the Chron, visitors at the grand opening can expect Buc-ee’s signature mix of convenience and holiday cheer. The store will feature a range of festive merchandise, including holiday-themed beaver onesies, Santa-inspired sweaters, elf slippers, and Christmas ornaments. For those planning gatherings, there will be plenty of gift wrap, decorations, and even a beaver nutcracker to round out the celebrations.
If the Amarillo grand opening follows Buc-ee’s traditions, doors will open at 6 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony later in the day.
