After you survive Thanksgiving, you might want to start looking for new things to do that are nearer to the holiday season. So here are 4 things you can do this weekend in Austin while you recover from Thanksgiving’s food coma!
‘Elf’ at Vista Brewing.
Christmas is coming, and the best way to prepare yourself for it is to start watching Christmas movies! You can watch a free screening of the classic “Elf” at Vista Brewing in Driftwood. You must bring your own chair and/or blanket, but at least the place will have S’mores and hot chocolate available for sale. The event will be dog friendly. The movie will start at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Vista Brewing, 13551 Ranch to Mark Road 150.
Miracle on 5th Street
This is the classic and beautiful Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar and it’s the perfect plan after thanksgiving. The bar serves holiday cocktails and features Christmas decorations. You can even take a picture on Santa’s Throne. Perfect to connect with the Christmas spirit you always felt in your childhood. Information: miracleon5thst.com.
Drive-thru experience at Peppermint Parkway
If you want something to do that doesn’t involve walking, this is perfect for you. You can watch thousands of lights and holiday decorations from your car in the drive-thru experience at Circuit of the Americas at Peppermint Parkway. You can get more information at peppermintparkway.com.
‘A Christmas Carol’ at Zach Theatre
There will be performances of “A Christmas Carol” at Zach Theatre, 202 South Lamar Blvd. This is perfect if you want to see a new adaptation of the holiday classic. But be warned that this is a musical that features “a score that spans all genres and eras.” Shows start from Nov. 24 and you can get info at zachtheatre.org.
