It seems that former President Donald Trump was right about a few things, as a new study found that he could actually shoot someone on 5th avenue in NYC, and people would still vote for him. It might look like a scene straight out of The Boys series, but it’s actually reality.
A new poll by Mainstreet Research asked the next question to different voters: “Donald Trump has said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue in New York city, and people would still vote for him. Would Trump actually shooting someone on 5th avenue impact your vote for him or against him?,” and the results were shocking.
Among all Trump voters in the sample (463 people), 48% answered Trump shooting someone would not have an impact on their vote. That’s practically half of Trump voters.
Among all 1053 adults surveyed, 38% answered “No impact.”
Delving deeper into the data, people aging from 18 to 34 years were the group with the highest percentage of voters saying that Trump shooting someone wouldn’t change their vote.
In 2016 Trump said: “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,” as part of a campaign rally in Iowa. While in reality he would lose voters, he would lose far less than he should, and it seems that some people just don’t care if their idol is a murderer.
