OTC Cancels Annual Conference in Houston, Looks Toward 2021

The Offshore Technology Conference will not be held in Houston this year due to concerns about COVID-19.

The conference will return next May, according to an OTC press release.

“As we navigate these difficult and uncertain times, it is with a heavy heart that the OTC Board of Directors has determined that it is in our best interest to cancel OTC 2020. Our priority is the health and safety of our attendees and exhibitors, and we have taken federal, state, and local guidelines into account in making our decision,” said Cindy Yeilding, OTC chairperson.

OTC is the biggest oil and gas conference in the world and has brought together energy industry leaders since 1969. OTC has generated over $3.2 billion in income for Houston and is the city’s largest convention, gathering 60,000 energy professionals from more than 100 countries.
