Real Estate Investor Accused Of Bribing Paxton Incarcerated

Travis County jail records reveal that Nate Paul, the real estate investor accused of bribing Attorney General Ken Paxton, is currently incarcerated on an FBI hold for felony charge. The specific nature of the charge has not been disclosed in the records.

This development comes in the wake of allegations made against Attorney General Ken Paxton, who was recently impeached.

Several former aides reported to law enforcement authorities that Paxton had engaged in a series of actions that abused his position of authority to benefit Paul.

According to the articles of impeachment presented by the Texas House, Paxton allegedly received favors such as assistance with home renovations and the facilitation of employment for a woman who was purportedly involved in an extramarital affair with him in exchange for helping Paul with his businesses, legal issues and an FBI investigation.

The FBI has been conducting an investigation into these allegations since October 2020 when the whistleblowers initially came forward with their report.

Paxton, who vehemently denies any wrongdoing, received support from his lead defense attorney, who dismissed the impeachment case as baseless on Wednesday. The situation continues to unfold as the legal proceedings progress.

This is a developing story.
