Keresa Richardson Wins Texas House District 61 Election

In a pivotal race for Texas House District 61, Keresa Richardson, the Republican candidate, has defeated Democratic challenger Tony Adams in a closely watched contest.

At the time this article was published, Richardson had received 51,876 votes (60%) to Adams’ 34,559 votes (40%).

Richardson, who defeated incumbent Frederick Frazier in the Republican primaries, ran a campaign strongly backed by key conservative figures such as Senator Ted Cruz, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Senator Angela Paxton, along with support from the Texas Home School Coalition PAC.

House District 61, located in Collin County, has been a focal point of attention since Frazier, one of 60 Republicans who voted to impeach Paxton, faced heavy political consequences. Richardson capitalized on this, using her support from Paxton’s allies to build a robust campaign that resonated with the district’s conservative base. Her victory solidifies Republican control in the district.
