Uniqlo Unveils Exciting New Location In Houston’s Memorial City Mall

After years of anticipation, Texas is finally welcoming its first Uniqlo store at Memorial City Mall in Houston, with doors opening on Friday.

Uniqlo is a Japanese retailer, known for its affordable and stylish basics, and now is expanding its presence in North America, with several new locations planned across Texas, including in Sugar Land, Dallas, Arlington, and Frisco.

The decision to expand Uniqlo into Houston was based on customer feedback, according to Nicolas Cessot, Head of Marketing for Uniqlo North America.

“At Uniqlo we take our time. We really listen to the voice of our customers. That’s the thing we do with everything we do, “ Cessot told the Chron. “And so Texas was a very natural next step for us because from the data we’ve seen and from the online shopping and online consumers…we know we had a lot of fans in Texas that could only touch Uniqlo through our online platforms.”

“It was strategically just the right thing to do to find a physical space here in Texas, in Houston,” he added.

The Houston store offers the brand’s popular collections, like AIRism and Heat-Tech, and features unique-to-Houston designs by local artists and businesses. Shoppers can enjoy personalizing their purchases with Texas-inspired embroidery and explore the Uniqlo Bookshelf, which includes a variety of Japanese books from Kinokuniya, covering art, fashion, and more.

For the grand opening, early bird customers will receive exclusive gifts like Uniqlo knot bags filled with Japanese snacks. In addition, those spending over $99 can grab a special Houston-design tote, with a chance to win prizes during the weekend celebrations.
